Salman’s game show on Sony offers Rs 100 million

Mumbai, May 25: Salman Khan is going to launch a new game show on Sony that would allow contestants win Rs 100 million. This is by far the largest amount any television is offering in a game show in India and it is sure to excite the viewers and increase the TRP of the Sony Entertainment Television.

The game show that seems to be the only thing on Salman Khan’s mind right now and he is rooting to make it a success a contestant will be asked a question. This question’s answer is an average percentage of a mass opinion poll conducted across India. If the contestant’s guess is close to India’s collective opinion, he begins to win. The winning amount begins with ten thousand rupees. Thereafter, every question answered ‘right’ makes you win or loose by the power of ten.

It is the first time that Salman will be anchoring any TV show. Clearly Sony wants to cash his popularity not only in metro cities but India’s hinterland. Salman is one of the best selling actors in rural India and all his films are hit in those villages and small cities where stars like Shah Rukh or Aamir don’t appeal much.

Till now only Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have hosted game shows. Amitabh hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati, while Shah Rukh hosted its second edition. He is now hosting another game show on Star TV “Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain”. The game show is a copycat of popular US game show “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader”.

Salman Khan is going all out to attract audience to his game show. This has prompted him to begin blogging as well. Here he is following the footsteps of his two peers Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

While writing on his blog Sallu says, “There is no false shame and sense of humiliation on the show if your answer is wrong. Sample survey has determined the exact answers in form of percentage and the one who answers nearest to the exact answer is the winner. This game is simple. It is a game of guessing”.
