New Delhi: Peace seems to be finally prevailing in the Bangalore camp after a disastrous run in the Indian Premier league. With back-to-back wins in the last phase of the league games of the tournament, Bangalore seem to have salvaged pride. And now skipper Rahul Dravid has rubbished reports of his quitting the Bangalore team after he drew flack for his team's lackluster show.
Dravid has came out saying that he is no mood to quit the IPL. Dravid told CNN-IBN: "Reports of quitting Bangalore Royal Challengers is not true. I have enjoyed the experience of playing in the IPL T2O matches. I have a three-year contract and hope to fulfill it."
The former India captain's statement comes after he has hit a rich vein of form in the IPL. After struggling initially in the fastest version of the game, Dravid has rediscovered his aggressive batting mode. And his batting has been a major force behind Bangalore's last two wins.
Earlier there were reports of team owner Vijay Mallya being unhappy with the performance of his Bangalore team and had severely criticised his skipper for poor selection. Team CEO Charu Sharma was sacked after Bangalore's string of losses and the rumour mills were churning overtime with reports of Dravid leaving the team.
However, Mallya had later said that he did not regret buying an IPL franchise but claimed his comments on former CEO Charu Sharma's sacking were distorted to send the wrong signal. And after Dravid has clarified that he has had a good time in the IPL and wishes to honour the three-year contract he has signed, Bangalore finally seem to be getting its act together.
